Pedagogy&TeachingMethodology
IPS offers a standardised CBSE-based curriculum while adding elements of value that inculcate 21st-century skills such as critical thinking and problem solving, through interactive events, activities and role-playing in the classroom. Our curriculum is designed to be thought-provoking, relevant and international in nature.
How we teach
- Student-centric learning — “If a child cannot learn in the way we teach, we must teach in a way the child can learn.”
- Smart digital classrooms — technology woven into everyday teaching, with a technology corner and computer labs from the early years.
- Experiential education — field trips, excursions, role play, public speaking and project work.
- STEAM focus — science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through labs, robotics and creative workshops.
- Montessori-trained faculty for the early years.
Blooming Buds (Nursery – II)
Quality education in the early years sets the foundation for a child's overall development. In Nursery, children engage in reading, writing, counting, number recognition and problem solving in a fun-filled but purposeful manner, with dramatics, science and arts. Activities include a splash pool and sand pit, toy train ride, creative time, story time, free play in the technology corner and celebration of special days.
Initiators (Class III – VIII)
We facilitate all types of learners, offering individual and extra-curricular support, so that learning in the primary section becomes more fun than a burden — students should be eager to go to school every morning.
Accelerators (Class IX – XII)
Rigorous practice and study techniques with special emphasis on analysis and conceptualisation. We promote competitive exams such as NTSE and MUN through proper coaching, guidance and enrichment programmes.
Homework
Homework is an integral part of learning and encourages independent study. In the junior school it varies from 20 minutes in Class I to 40 minutes in Class V, rising to six hours a week in middle school and ten hours by senior school.
